The definition of air cargo 'tariff' |
It applies with respect to the tariff for each compartment officially announced by each airline including the regulations related to it. The tariff can be different from the actual price but it is the price to write down in airway bill standardizing the discount rate. |

The principle on application of air cargo tariff |
- It applies according to the issue date of an air waybill. - The tariff of an air cargo is set for transport from airport to airport. - The local currency applies, except many countries using USD. - The tarif for all cargoes is set per KG, except that the cargo departing from USA is set per LB. - The authorization of local government is required for valid application. You can revise without an additional notice. |
A principle on tariff of air cargo |
- Calculate an applicable tariff by Chargeable weight *KG/LB - Payment should be made by either prepaid or charges collect with valuation charge. - The actual route taken has nothing to do with the route used to calculate the freight charge. |
Calculate Chargeable weight |
1. By actual weight Weight under 0.5 Kg marks up as 0.5Kg and weight over 0.6 marks up as 1Kg 2. By volume value The maximum volume(width*length*height) multiplied by standard weight for unit volume is the charge. The maximum volume rounds off to the nearest whole number. Standard weight : 6000CUCM= 1.0KG 366CUIN = 1.0KG 166CUIN = 1.0LB [ sample ] The volume weight of cargo that has 162cm width, 156cm length, and 141cm height. ¨ç 162cm X 156cm X 141cm = 3,563,352§¨ ¨è 3,563,352§¨ / 6,000 = 593.892kg ¨é Volume Weight = 594kg ¡Ø The higher number between actual weight and volume weight will be the chargeable weight |
Decide the applicable tariff |
1. 1. Decide applicable type of tariff based on item and journey 2. 2. Confirm chargeable tariff |
Calculate tariff |
Charge of air cargo is calculated by chargeable weight X tariff. If the calculated tariff is lower than the minimum charge for each city, the minimum charge will apply. |
At high level of weight, examine possibility that the lower charge is applicable. |
At high level of weight, if charge becomes lower by applying lower tariff, the lower charge will apply. |
